MRS. GABBIE HYNEK
6TH GRADE

Hello! My name is Gabbie Hynek and this is my fourth year teaching 6th grade at Iowa Valley! I also coach junior high volleyball. I am originally from Fredericksburg, Iowa. I graduated from Upper Iowa University with a degree in Elementary Education and endorsements in Reading, Math, Language Arts, and Coaching. My husband Jesse and I reside in Newhall. In my free time I love to hang out with family and friends, attend sporting events, and travel to new places.  In 6th grade students learn how to be more responsible, how to manage their time, and how to stay organized. Throughout the school year the students will learn a variety of reading comprehension strategies. In math, the students will work on fractions, decimals, and percentages. Our three main units for science are: Chemical Interactions, Earth History, and Diversity of Life. I am looking forward to getting to know the students, and I am excited for the school year to start.
